Kid Care Afterschool is located at 17 Irving Street (Parmenter School). Children will have time to play different exciting sports and games, spend time outside and enjoy the recently renovated playground. Open-ended arts & crafts, dramatic play, music activities and science experiments are all part of the curriculum.
We accept students grades K-5 from all Arlington Public Elementary schools. Transportation is provided and included in the tuition.
Our program will be split into 3 different age groups: K & 1, 2 & 3, 4 & 5. Throughout the day, there will be opportunities for the kids to have a chance to mingle with other age groups to play and create together.
Arlington Kid Care, which is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care, follows the Arlington Public School calendar with the following exceptions: it is not open when school closes at mid-day for a vacation period or closes early because of bad weather. Early release days are included as long as you are registered for the respective day.

Registration for CURRENT families is February 10-16. The Lottery for NEW families is Tuesday, February 17 9:00am - 4:00pm.

There may be space in the Kid Care Afterschool Program for the 2025-26 school year. Please call 781-316-3880 for availability.
General Information
- We accept students entering grades K-5.
- Transportation is provided from all Arlington Public Schools and included in the tuition.
- We offer 2 - 5 days per week options. (There is a 2-day minimum.).
- The program starts the first day of the school year and is not in session when Arlington Public Schools are closed. We operate from the end of the school day (including early release days) until 5:45 pm.
- Registration is for the entire year.
Tuition and Fees
A $50 non-refundable application fee is due at the time of registering.
Tuition is broken down into 10 equal monthly payments.
$368/month for 2 days per week
$476/month for 3 days per week
$605/month for 4 days per week
$735/month for 5 days per week
Tuition and fees charged are non-refundable even for household credit.
BILLING & CANCELLATION POLICIES
- An application fee of $50 and first month's tuition is due at the time of registration.
- After the first month, we have a "Pay on Your Own" policy. Payment is due by the 15th of the prior month. Arlington Recreations sends reminder notices to log into you account and pay the balance due for the upcoming month. Late fees may apply. You may pay some months ahead if you chose.
- You are making a 3 month commitment when registering. If you would like to drop days prior to December, you will still be responsible for the program you registered for until December.
- You may drop days starting in December without penalty. To drop days starting in December, please email your request to Recoffice@town.arlington.ma.us by 11/15/26. For dropping days later in the year, please submit your request by the 15th of the prior month.
- There is no penalty to drop completely from the program prior to August 1. (There will be no refunds or credits for fees already charged.)
- There is no penalty to switch days if a more desirable day is available.
- All tuition and fees charged are non-refundable, even for household credit.
How Do I Sign Up?
- Make sure your information and your child's information is up to date at ArlingtonRec.com. Grades automatically roll up in our system on June 1. If you are registering an incoming Kindergartener before June 1, the grade should be "PK". If your child's grade is incorrect or "N/A", please contact Arlington Rec to update.
- Current Kid Care Afterschool Families: For current families, registration runs from February 10 - 16. Please log in to your household account and pay the Kid Care Application Fee 2026-27 ($50). Next register for the Kid Care Afterschool Program 2026-27, choose 2-5 days and pay the first month's tuition for September. Please remember that you are making a 3 month commitment and are responsible for all the days you register for until December 2026.
- New Families: The Afterschool Lottery is Tuesday, February 17, 9:00am - 4:00pm. Please see registering instructions on link below.
