Thanks to the power of music & a judgment-free space, Expressive Dance is an invitation to wake up your inner child! Dance & play with easy movements, repetitions & sounds inspired by Haitian dancer Herns Duplan and 20th-century American choregrapher & anthropologist Katherine Dunham. No need to be an expert: this dance is accessible to everyone! You just need to be yourself & ready to join our amazing local community of dancers! Dance is the best medicine on Earth, especially outside, connected to the beauty of Mother Earth! Let’s also combine the healing modalities of dynamic movements, rhythmic breathwork, vocal release, and meditation thanks to a revolutionary wellness practice developed by Sah d'Simone. This supports us in release & relief, calming the mind, awakening & energizing the body, amplifying our inner power and cultivating joy!
Sophie is passionate about creating social ties, sharing the power of yoga, dance & music. Originally from France, she is a graduate of the French Conservatory of Dance in Rennes, Bretagne. Before moving to Arlington she performed dance in Paris for 10 years and has been training in Expressive Dance since 2018 with dance therapist France Schott-Billman. Currently, she is training in the "Somatic Activated Healing Method" created by Sah d'Simone. Sophie enjoys so much leading dance classes and retreats for all ages.
