Kid Care Afterschool: PROGRAM 2023-24 • Register • View Cart •

APRIL 25 UPDATE:  The Kid Care program and new student waitlists are currently full.  If your child is enrolled for at least 2 days for 2023-24 and you wish to be added to the "need additional days" waitlist, please email lkirchner@town.arlington.ma.us with the additional days you want.

Arlington Recreation Dept. is proud to offer this licensed, extended-day program for children in Grades K – 5. The program is held at the Gibbs School, 41 Foster Street.  Transportation is provided and included in the tuition.

Arlington Kid Care, which is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care, follows the Arlington Public School calendar with the following exceptions: it is not open when school closes at mid-day for a vacation period or closes early because of bad weather. Early release days are included as long as you are registered for the respective day.

General Information
  • The program is located at the Gibbs School. Children will have time for playing sports and games, music and drama, science experiments, arts and crafts, homework and a caring staff.
  • We accept students entering grades K-5.
  • Transportation is provided from school and included in the tuition.
  • We offer 2 - 5 day per week options. (There is a 2-day minimum.)
  • The program begins the first day of the school year and is not in session when Arlington Public Schools are closed. We operate from the end of the school day (including 1:00 early release days) until 6 pm.
  • Students from all grades will do some activities together.
  • Registration is for the entire year.

Waitlist Information
We offer 2 waitlists. One waitlist is for families who have registered for at least 2 days but need additional days. The other waitlist is for families who have not registered for ANY days. Both waitlists require you to pay the enrollment fee and open on 4/3 for returning families and 4/24 for new families. See WAITLIST information - link below.
