Kids Corner: Preschool Summer Program - Kids Corner Friday Care (Week 7) Kids Corner: Preschool Summer ProgramCalling all preschoolers to come and enjoy a fun and exciting summer experience in a loving and caring atmosphere. Explore and discover new friends, activities, and adventure. Participants will enjoy non-competitive games, water fun, crafts, songs, outdoor play, and preschool activities held indoors and out. The children will enjoy many opportunities to develop social skills such as cooperation and sharing. They will enjoy getting to know one another in the age-appropriate environment provided. Participants will enjoy choosing from a variety of planned activities each day, which are always supervised by our experience & trained counselors. The primary location for this program is located at 17 Irving St, Arlington, MA 02476. This indoor space serves as the home of our Kid Care Preschool Program during the school year. When outdoors, children will enjoy playing in the water, having art activities and exploring some of nature’s wonders as well as picnics outdoors. When indoors, participants will be in a safe, supportive atmosphere that encourages learning, excitement, and exploration, arts and crafts, and enjoy special entertainment. You must provide a daily snack and lots of fluids. The performers will be working on their production 9:00am – 12:00pm and will join Club Rec in the afternoon for swimming, fun and games at the Arlington Reservoir or Thompson Spray Park. Theatre at Club Rec culminates with a performance of our new work for friends and family on the final day each week.The Theatre program falls under Club Rec Camp and will go to the Reservoir Beach for the afternoon as a whole. We will round out the week with other activities such as high ropes course climbing, paint-ball, Extreme Kraze, and Kimball’s farm. Rainy weather? No problem! We’ll also add in indoor fun like bowling and roller-skating! Each week will include a theme park, hiking and a beach day. Space is limited! Check out our website for our trip details. Club Geo Trek - Club Geo Trek: Session1 As part of our LAHF TREK series, Club GEO Trek introduces hiking and the fun sport of collecting geocaches! Geocaching is a type of global scavenger hunt where people look for caches, or hidden stashes of objects. Geocachers use a GPS app that offers coordinates, clues and puzzles to solve, in order to locate caches and/or place their own caches. In this workshop, we will review basic hiking and caching etiquette, (including leave no trace), learn how to use one of the geocache apps, and try to locate caches in Arlington.

Club Geo Trek - Club Geo Trek: Session1 As part of our LAHF TREK series, Club GEO Trek introduces hiking and the fun sport of collecting geocaches! Geocaching is a type of global scavenger hunt where people look for caches, or hidden stashes of objects. Geocachers use a GPS app that offers coordinates, clues and puzzles to solve, in order to locate caches and/or place their own caches. In this workshop, we will review basic hiking and caching etiquette, (including leave no trace), learn how to use one of the geocache apps, and try to locate caches in Arlington.

Club Geo Trek - Club Geo Trek: Session1 As part of our LAHF TREK series, Club GEO Trek introduces hiking and the fun sport of collecting geocaches! Geocaching is a type of global scavenger hunt where people look for caches, or hidden stashes of objects. Geocachers use a GPS app that offers coordinates, clues and puzzles to solve, in order to locate caches and/or place their own caches. In this workshop, we will review basic hiking and caching etiquette, (including leave no trace), learn how to use one of the geocache apps, and try to locate caches in Arlington.

Club Geo Trek - Club Geo Trek: Session2 As part of our LAHF TREK series, Club GEO Trek introduces hiking and the fun sport of collecting geocaches! Geocaching is a type of global scavenger hunt where people look for caches, or hidden stashes of objects. Geocachers use a GPS app that offers coordinates, clues and puzzles to solve, in order to locate caches and/or place their own caches. In this workshop, we will review basic hiking and caching etiquette, (including leave no trace), learn how to use one of the geocache apps, and try to locate caches in Arlington.

Magnolia Community Garden - Magnolia Community Garden 2025 2025: All returning 2024 garden plot holders will be contacted in February regarding the renewal of their plots for the 2025 season. Any plot that remain open will be offered to those on the wait list, in order, beginning in late February. If you are currently on the wait list and a plot becomes available to you, we will contact you directly. The Magnolia Community Garden Program is open to Arlington Residents only (must maintain resident status each year). At this time, please note that individuals who register for the wait list should expect at least a 3-4 year wait until they are offered a plot.* Approved, returning gardeners will receive a code in order to register for a plot this year. Fencing - Fencing: Thursday's Summer 2 (Beginner/ Advanced 12+) FENCINGCome learn the exciting sport of fencing! Often called a physical game of chess, fencing develops endurance, coordination, agility, poise and balance. While fencing is a physical sport, it is also a mental game requiring concentration, quick decision-making and problem-solving. It’s an ideal activity for people of all ages and sizes.About the Instructor: Michael Tarascio was a member of the United States World Championship Team in Men's Foil. Michael is a Level 4 Foil coach certified through the United States Fencing Association. Also, certified through the Positive Coaching Alliance and the American Sports Education Program. He teaches Recreational Classes for Youth, Teens, and Adults. Michael also teaches Advanced Level Technique and Tactics Classes and provides Individual Coaching for the Serious Competitive Fencer. Michael's philosophy on fencing is: "Participate in fencing because it's fun."Fencing Equipment Purchase and Rental Information will be sent out prior to class. Option 2: Rental from Coach Michael $50.00 plus a $100.00 deposit for an 8-week session. At the end of the last class, the deposit will be issued upon returning the fencing gear to Coach Michael. He will set up appointments for you and your fencer in 15-minute slots for those who need rental fencing gear. Fencers will be fitted for equipment. Fencers will take the equipment home with them.
