Update 12/5/24:  There are currently spaces available in the afterschool program for 2024-25. Please contact Arlington Rec at 781-316-3880 for availability. Kid Care Afterschool, is held at our brand new location, formerly the Parmenter School (17 Irving Street). Children will have time to play different exciting sports and games, spend time outside and enjoy the recently renovated playground. Open-ended arts & crafts, dramatic play, music activities and science experiments are all part of the curriculum.Transportation is provided and included in the tuition. Our program will be split into 3 different age groups: K & 1, 2 & 3, 4 & 5.  Throughout the day, there will be opportunities for the kids to have a chance to mingle with other age groups to play and create together.Arlington Kid Care, which is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care, follows the Arlington Public School calendar with the following exceptions: it is not open when school closes at mid-day for a vacation period or closes early because of bad weather. Early release days are included as long as you are registered for the respective day.

Bay State Skating School Learn To Skate ProgramCelebrating Over Fifty Years of Teaching Skating to YouthBasic instruction and open skate for youth, without parents. Children will be taught how to stand up on skates, marching, dips, and forward skate. Participants are required to provide their own single blade skates (rentals available). Helmets are required for this program!  It’s time to sharpen your blades for the coming winter season! Join Bay State Skate for skating fun. All teachers are professional ice skating instructors, offering excellent classes for students ages 4 and up. The program is structured in 25-minute lessons and 25-minute practice time each week. A co-instructor is in attendance at all times. Skaters must have sharpened figure, hockey, or recreation skates. NO Double Runners. Skill progression: balancing, falling and getting up, glides, turns, edges, crossovers, spins, jumps and more. This approach enables us to have a strong, sustainable program which will develop basketball skills earlier with consistency over time.Run by qualified youth coaches, this Arlington based, and supported program will teach kids basketball skills while promoting fun, teaching the game and developing skills. While fencing is a physical sport, it is also a mental game requiring concentration, quick decision-making and problem-solving. It’s an ideal activity for people of all ages and sizes.About the Instructor: Michael Tarascio was a member of the United States World Championship Team in Men's Foil. Michael is a Level 4 Foil coach certified through the United States Fencing Association. Also, certified through the Positive Coaching Alliance and the American Sports Education Program. He teaches Recreational Classes for Youth, Teens, and Adults. Michael also teaches Advanced Level Technique and Tactics Classes and provides Individual Coaching for the Serious Competitive Fencer. Our program will be split into 3 different age groups: K & 1, 2 & 3, 4 & 5.  Throughout the day, there will be opportunities for the kids to have a chance to mingle with other age groups to play and create together.Arlington Kid Care, which is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care, follows the Arlington Public School calendar with the following exceptions: it is not open when school closes at mid-day for a vacation period or closes early because of bad weather. Children will be taught how to stand up on skates, marching, dips, and forward skate. Participants are required to provide their own single blade skates (rentals available). Helmets are required for this program!  It’s time to sharpen your blades for the coming winter season! Join Bay State Skate for skating fun. All teachers are professional ice skating instructors, offering excellent classes for students ages 4 and up. The program is structured in 25-minute lessons and 25-minute practice time each week. Our program will be split into 3 different age groups: K & 1, 2 & 3, 4 & 5.  Throughout the day, there will be opportunities for the kids to have a chance to mingle with other age groups to play and create together.Arlington Kid Care, which is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care, follows the Arlington Public School calendar with the following exceptions: it is not open when school closes at mid-day for a vacation period or closes early because of bad weather. Bay State Skating School Learn To Skate ProgramCelebrating Over Fifty Years of Teaching Skating to YouthBasic instruction and open skate for youth, without parents. Children will be taught how to stand up on skates, marching, dips, and forward skate. Participants are required to provide their own single blade skates (rentals available). Helmets are required for this program!  It’s time to sharpen your blades for the coming winter season! Join Bay State Skate for skating fun. All teachers are professional ice skating instructors, offering excellent classes for students ages 4 and up. The program is structured in 25-minute lessons and 25-minute practice time each week. A co-instructor is in attendance at all times. Skaters must have sharpened figure, hockey, or recreation skates. NO Double Runners. Skill progression: balancing, falling and getting up, glides, turns, edges, crossovers, spins, jumps and more. 2025: All returning 2024 garden plot holders will be contacted in  February regarding the renewal of their plots for the 2025 season. Any plot that remain open will be offered to those on the wait list, in order, beginning in late February. If you are currently on the wait list and a plot becomes available to you, we will contact you directly. The Magnolia Community Garden Program is open to Arlington Residents only (must maintain resident status each year). At this time, please note that individuals who register for the wait list should expect at least a 3-4 year wait until they are offered a plot.* Approved, returning gardeners will receive a code in order to register for a plot this year. Please contact Arlington Rec at 781-316-3880 for availability. Kid Care Afterschool, is held at our brand new location, formerly the Parmenter School (17 Irving Street). Children will have time to play different exciting sports and games, spend time outside and enjoy the recently renovated playground. Open-ended arts & crafts, dramatic play, music activities and science experiments are all part of the curriculum.Transportation is provided and included in the tuition. Our program will be split into 3 different age groups: K & 1, 2 & 3, 4 & 5.  Throughout the day, there will be opportunities for the kids to have a chance to mingle with other age groups to play and create together.Arlington Kid Care, which is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care, follows the Arlington Public School calendar with the following exceptions: it is not open when school closes at mid-day for a vacation period or closes early because of bad weather. Early release days are included as long as you are registered for the respective day.

Players will learn how to pass and shoot effectively, learn the different ways to defend and block, best strategies for teamwork and efficient play, and be challenged to think and act fast during small sided games at the end of each session. Middle School Co-Ed Ultimate Frisbee The focus of the program is on skill development, sportsmanship, and spirit of the game, the foundation of Ultimate which places the responsibility of fair play on every member of the team. No previous experience required. Ultimate is one of the fastest growing sports in the world today, especially in the Boston area. Update 12/5/24:  There are currently spaces available in the afterschool program for 2024-25. Please contact Arlington Rec at 781-316-3880 for availability. Kid Care Afterschool, is held at our brand new location, formerly the Parmenter School (17 Irving Street). Children will have time to play different exciting sports and games, spend time outside and enjoy the recently renovated playground. Open-ended arts & crafts, dramatic play, music activities and science experiments are all part of the curriculum.Transportation is provided and included in the tuition. Our program will be split into 3 different age groups: K & 1, 2 & 3, 4 & 5.  Throughout the day, there will be opportunities for the kids to have a chance to mingle with other age groups to play and create together.Arlington Kid Care, which is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care, follows the Arlington Public School calendar with the following exceptions: it is not open when school closes at mid-day for a vacation period or closes early because of bad weather. Early release days are included as long as you are registered for the respective day.
