Our goal is for all attendees to develop both a love of the game and a feeling of belonging within our community. Coaches will be on hand to help players learn skills and tactics/strategy/rules. Each session will include drills and scrimmages designed to maximize learning and fun. We welcome players of all abilities and genders. Building off the skills based clinics ABC offers in the fall and early spring we're excited to bring back our program focused solely on shooting!  This 4 week clinic is Co-Ed and is designed for players looking to develop and refine their shooting technique, break down the shooting process and focus on proper footwork. Players will learn proper shooting form and then progress to shooting off the dribble, shooting off the pass, free throws, and more through a mix of shooting drills. Over the course of the clinic, our goal is to teach the fundamentals of shooting, build confidence and grow as a shooter.    About the ABC   The ABC offers fun, high quality and supportive basketball programming for kids to develop, learn and play basketball. ABC strives to provide age-appropriate and skill-appropriate player development and coaching. We teach solid fundamentals and foundational skills as part of our travel (played through the Arlington Recreation Department as part of the Metrowest Basketball League) and developmental programs. This approach enables us to have a strong, sustainable program which will develop basketball skills earlier with consistency over time. Run by qualified youth coaches, this Arlington based, and supported program will teach kids basketball skills while promoting fun, teaching the game and developing skills.

Players will learn how to pass and shoot effectively, learn the different ways to defend and block, best strategies for teamwork and efficient play, and be challenged to think and act fast during small sided games at the end of each session. No previous experience required. Ultimate is one of the fastest growing sports in the world today, especially in the Boston area. Spring is springing for Free 2 Be Fitness. Arlington Recreation and F2BF are excited to continue this eight-week outdoor group fitness program in the park. Wake up Wednesday mornings for a strength and conditioning class that utilizes a mix of cardio and body weight exercises. F2BF’s motto “start where you are – use what you have – do what you can” means just that. F2BF in the park is intended for anyone interested in working out with a group in a safe and supportive environment.  Minimal equipment required: mat, towel, mini resistance bands and two filled water bottles (or light/medium weights). Arlington Recreation and the Arlington Senior Center invite all interested participants to come and enjoy this new program. Participants can enjoy the newly renovated fully accessible path along the beautiful Arlington Reservoir which measures 1-mile in length. The program will start and finish at the Arlington Reservoir beach. This program is free to Arlington seniors and will be funded through a grant from the Arlington Recreation Department. While fencing is a physical sport, it is also a mental game requiring concentration, quick decision-making and problem-solving. It’s an ideal activity for people of all ages and sizes.About the Instructor: Michael Tarascio was a member of the United States World Championship Team in Men's Foil. Michael is a Level 4 Foil coach certified through the United States Fencing Association. Also, certified through the Positive Coaching Alliance and the American Sports Education Program. He teaches Recreational Classes for Youth, Teens, and Adults. Michael also teaches Advanced Level Technique and Tactics Classes and provides Individual Coaching for the Serious Competitive Fencer. Any plot that remain open will be offered to those on the wait list, in order, beginning in late February. If you are currently on the wait list and a plot becomes available to you, we will contact you directly. The Magnolia Community Garden Program is open to Arlington Residents only (must maintain resident status each year). At this time, please note that individuals who register for the wait list should expect at least a 3-4 year wait until they are offered a plot.* Approved, returning gardeners will receive a code in order to register for a plot this year. Coaches break the fundamentals of each sport down into simple steps based on each child’s age and ability. Spring is springing for Free 2 Be Fitness. Arlington Recreation and F2BF are excited to continue this eight-week outdoor group fitness program in the park. Wake up Wednesday mornings for a strength and conditioning class that utilizes a mix of cardio and body weight exercises. F2BF’s motto “start where you are – use what you have – do what you can” means just that. F2BF in the park is intended for anyone interested in working out with a group in a safe and supportive environment.  Minimal equipment required: mat, towel, mini resistance bands and two filled water bottles (or light/medium weights). Michael is a Level 4 Foil coach certified through the United States Fencing Association. Also, certified through the Positive Coaching Alliance and the American Sports Education Program. He teaches Recreational Classes for Youth, Teens, and Adults. Michael also teaches Advanced Level Technique and Tactics Classes and provides Individual Coaching for the Serious Competitive Fencer. Any plot that remain open will be offered to those on the wait list, in order, beginning in late February. If you are currently on the wait list and a plot becomes available to you, we will contact you directly. The Magnolia Community Garden Program is open to Arlington Residents only (must maintain resident status each year). At this time, please note that individuals who register for the wait list should expect at least a 3-4 year wait until they are offered a plot.* Approved, returning gardeners will receive a code in order to register for a plot this year. Spring is springing for Free 2 Be Fitness. Arlington Recreation and F2BF are excited to continue this eight-week outdoor group fitness program in the park. Wake up Wednesday mornings for a strength and conditioning class that utilizes a mix of cardio and body weight exercises. F2BF’s motto “start where you are – use what you have – do what you can” means just that. F2BF in the park is intended for anyone interested in working out with a group in a safe and supportive environment.  Minimal equipment required: mat, towel, mini resistance bands and two filled water bottles (or light/medium weights). Michael is a Level 4 Foil coach certified through the United States Fencing Association. Also, certified through the Positive Coaching Alliance and the American Sports Education Program. He teaches Recreational Classes for Youth, Teens, and Adults. Michael also teaches Advanced Level Technique and Tactics Classes and provides Individual Coaching for the Serious Competitive Fencer. Any plot that remain open will be offered to those on the wait list, in order, beginning in late February. If you are currently on the wait list and a plot becomes available to you, we will contact you directly. The Magnolia Community Garden Program is open to Arlington Residents only (must maintain resident status each year). At this time, please note that individuals who register for the wait list should expect at least a 3-4 year wait until they are offered a plot.* Approved, returning gardeners will receive a code in order to register for a plot this year. FENCINGCome learn the exciting sport of fencing! Often called a physical game of chess, fencing develops endurance, coordination, agility, poise and balance. While fencing is a physical sport, it is also a mental game requiring concentration, quick decision-making and problem-solving. It’s an ideal activity for people of all ages and sizes.About the Instructor: Michael Tarascio was a member of the United States World Championship Team in Men's Foil. Michael is a Level 4 Foil coach certified through the United States Fencing Association. Also, certified through the Positive Coaching Alliance and the American Sports Education Program. He teaches Recreational Classes for Youth, Teens, and Adults. Michael also teaches Advanced Level Technique and Tactics Classes and provides Individual Coaching for the Serious Competitive Fencer. Any plot that remain open will be offered to those on the wait list, in order, beginning in late February. If you are currently on the wait list and a plot becomes available to you, we will contact you directly. The Magnolia Community Garden Program is open to Arlington Residents only (must maintain resident status each year). Come join this very cool and fun elementary school summer program!   Over the past 30 years, Top Secret Science (www.TopSecretKids.org) has worked hands-on with over 2 million local children.  Engineering is made up of 4 major areas – chemical, electrical, mechanical and civil and each day the kids will use innovation, investigation and problem solving skills to build and create many new projects including towers, bridges, planes, rockets, electrical devices, chemical creations, LEGO structures, etc.  There will be at least 5 experiments that will be made and taken home each day.  Each child receives a Free Top Secret Science Tee Shirt!

Summer Exploration: Entering Grades 6 - 8Each week, participants will enjoy a day at Water Country or Canobie Lake, 2 planned trips, and a beach day. We will round out the week with other activities such as high ropes course climbing, paint-ball, Extreme Kraze, and Kimball’s farm. Rainy weather? No problem! We’ll also add in indoor fun like bowling and roller-skating! Each week will include a theme park, hiking and a beach day. Space is limited! Check out our website for our trip details. Please note, trips are subject to change if necessary.This is a 4-day program, Monday - Thursday.

2025: All returning 2024 garden plot holders will be contacted in  February regarding the renewal of their plots for the 2025 season. Any plot that remain open will be offered to those on the wait list, in order, beginning in late February. If you are currently on the wait list and a plot becomes available to you, we will contact you directly. The Magnolia Community Garden Program is open to Arlington Residents only (must maintain resident status each year). At this time, please note that individuals who register for the wait list should expect at least a 3-4 year wait until they are offered a plot.* Approved, returning gardeners will receive a code in order to register for a plot this year. Matt Siegel Tennis, LLC. We create a fun, safe and welcoming learning environment at Matt Siegel Tennis, LLC. Offering a variety of programming (camps, clinics, private and group lessons, hitting sessions, etc.) to juniors and adults of ALL skill levels. Our goal is to have every partcipant reach their full potential in the lifelong sport of tennis through an experienced and enthusiastic coaching staff led by Matt Siegel. Players are given the foundation to fall in love with the game, and play with a whole lot of heart. Matt is a former college tennis player who has worked with Arlington Recreation Tennis for the past 10 years. He is currently the Arlington High Boy’s Tennis coach and has led the team to eight straight state tournament appearances.Junior Tennis ProgramsThese programs will give participants a successful jump start into the game. We emphasize FUN and use a lot of games and drills to teach the age-appropriate basics of tennis. Come join this very cool and fun elementary school summer program!   Over the past 30 years, Top Secret Science (www.TopSecretKids.org) has worked hands-on with over 2 million local children.  Engineering is made up of 4 major areas – chemical, electrical, mechanical and civil and each day the kids will use innovation, investigation and problem solving skills to build and create many new projects including towers, bridges, planes, rockets, electrical devices, chemical creations, LEGO structures, etc.  There will be at least 5 experiments that will be made and taken home each day.  Each child receives a Free Top Secret Science Tee Shirt!

Summer Exploration: Entering Grades 6 - 8Each week, participants will enjoy a day at Water Country or Canobie Lake, 2 planned trips, and a beach day. We will round out the week with other activities such as high ropes course climbing, paint-ball, Extreme Kraze, and Kimball’s farm. Rainy weather? No problem! We’ll also add in indoor fun like bowling and roller-skating! Each week will include a theme park, hiking and a beach day. Space is limited! Check out our website for our trip details. Please note, trips are subject to change if necessary.This is a 4-day program, Monday - Thursday.

Floating on the front and the back will be covered, as well as kicking and arm motions Level 2: Success with fundamental skills. Water safety rules submerge entire head, front and back glide, and tread water. Bob in water, float, swim using combined stroke on front and back.Lessons does not give you access to the Res for after class. Must have a Res Membership or daily pass to stay after class. If Res is closed class will be cancelled. Make up date will be on Friday's   We look forward to a Big Splash of a Summer!

Kids Corner: Preschool Summer ProgramCalling all preschoolers to come and enjoy a fun and exciting summer experience in a loving and caring atmosphere. Explore and discover new friends, activities, and adventure. Participants will enjoy non-competitive games, water fun, crafts, songs, outdoor play, and preschool activities held indoors and out. The children will enjoy many opportunities to develop social skills such as cooperation and sharing. They will enjoy getting to know one another in the age-appropriate environment provided. Participants will enjoy choosing from a variety of planned activities each day, which are always supervised by our experience & trained counselors. The primary location for this program is located at 17 Irving St, Arlington, MA 02476. This indoor space serves as the home of our Kid Care Preschool Program during the school year. When outdoors, children will enjoy playing in the water, having art activities and exploring some of nature’s wonders as well as picnics outdoors. When indoors, participants will be in a safe, supportive atmosphere that encourages learning, excitement, and exploration, arts and crafts, and enjoy special entertainment. These classes are intended for those with no (or very little) tennis experience.  Learn the basic stroke technique, grips, scoring, positioning and court terminology.  This class will help you work on your tennis footwork, get familiar with scoring, and tennis etiquette. Each class will let players get a chance to practice their moves during point play. The player has achieved stroke dependability and direction on shots within reach. Class time will focus on being able to hold an extended rally, more advanced singles and doubles strategies and advanced shots such as overheads and top spin.
